I find painting and drawing a sacred performance and of course you can't see the meditation or the altered space that I dwell in when I am working, but it is a wonderful absorbing realm where time disappears. I am in prayer and bliss with an ancient dance that absorbs me with a presence I can't explain. I hope it communicates a cosmic connection that we all share on this detention.
I love doing the human form, to catch the soul is a beautiful experience. As and artist I photograph my subjects and I patiently wait until they reveal their essence. My aim in my figurative work is to supply an encounter, a recognition the ability to be close.
I want the viewer to feel their aura.
When I do murals it is because the humans in that space want a wall to say something they need to hear with their eyes, and I allow the wall a voice.
